『...And Justice for All（メタル・ジャスティス（リマスター・デラックス・ボックス・セット））』は、1988年9月7日にエレクトラ・レコードより発売されたメタリカの4枚目のスタジオ・アルバムの再発盤。アルバムの30周年を記念したこのリマスター版は2018年11月2日にリリースされた。1986年のクリフ・バートンの死後、ベーシストのジェイソン・ニューステッドが参加したメタリカ初のフルアルバムとなった。バートンは「To Live Is to Die」の共同作曲者としてクレジットされており、これはニューステッドが生前に録音していたベースラインを踏襲したためである。
OVERVIEW
メタリカは1988年初頭、ロサンゼルスのワン・オン・ワン・レコーディング・スタジオで、プロデューサーのフレミング・ラスムッセンと共に4ヶ月かけてこのアルバムをレコーディングした。このアルバムは、攻撃的な複雑さ、速いテンポ、そしてヴァースとコーラスが少ない構成を特徴としている。歌詞には、政府の腐敗、検閲、戦争といった政治的・法的不正をテーマにしている。メタリカのギタリスト、ジェイムズ・ヘットフィールドとドラマー、ラーズ・ウルリッヒの構想を基に、ロジャー・ゴーマンがデザインし、スティーブン・ゴーマンがイラストを手掛けたこのカバーには、ロープに縛られ、破れそうなほど引っ張られ、その上にドル紙幣が積み重なっては天秤から落ちていく正義の女神が描かれている。アルバムタイトルは、アメリカ合衆国の忠誠の誓いの最後の4語に由来する。収録曲のうち「Harvester of Sorrow」、「Eye of the Beholder」、「One」の3曲がシングルカットされ、タイトル曲「…And Justice for All」はプロモーション・シングルとしてリリースされた。『…And Justice for All』は、その深みと複雑さで音楽評論家から絶賛されたが、ドライミックスとほとんど聞こえないベースギターは批判された。このアルバムは、ヴィレッジ・ヴォイス誌が毎年開催する批評家投票「Pazz & Jop」で年間ベストアルバムに選出され、1989年にはグラミー賞にノミネートされたが、最優秀ハードロック／メタル・パフォーマンス（ボーカルまたはインストゥルメンタル）部門でジェスロ・タルに敗れ物議を醸した。シングル曲「One」はバンドのデビュー・ミュージック・ビデオのバックナンバーとして使用され、1990年にメタリカに初のグラミー賞（最優秀メタル・パフォーマンス部門では初の受賞）をもたらした。このアルバムはアメリカでも成功を収め、ビルボード200で最高6位を記録した。また、2003年にはアメリカ国内で800万枚を出荷したことで、アメリカレコード協会（RIAA）から8×プラチナ認定を受けた。
