『Metallica (Remastered Deluxe Box Set)（メタリカ（リマスター・デラックス・ボックス・セット））』は、1991年8月12日にエレクトラ・レコードより発売されたメタリカの5枚目のスタジオ・アルバムの再発盤。通称『The Black Album（ブラック・アルバム）』。アルバムの30周年を記念したこのリマスター版は2021年9月10日にリリースされた。レコーディングはロサンゼルスのワン・オン・ワン・レコーディング・スタジオで8ヶ月にわたり行われたが、その間、メタリカは新プロデューサーのボブ・ロックとしばしば意見の相違を抱えた。このアルバムは、バンドの音楽性を、前4枚のアルバムのスラッシュメタルスタイルから、よりスローでヘヴィ、そして洗練されたサウンドへと転換させたものだった。
OVERVIEW
メタリカは一連のツアーでアルバムのプロモーションを行った。また、アルバムのプロモーションとして「Enter Sandman」、「The Unforgiven」、「Nothing Else Matters」、「Wherever I May Roam」、「Sad but True」の5枚のシングルをリリースし、いずれもバンドの代表曲の一つとされている。アルバム発売直後には「Don't Tread on Me」という曲もロックラジオで放送されたが、シングルカットはされなかった。メタリカは批評家から広く称賛され、バンドのベストセラーアルバムとなった。10カ国で初登場1位を獲得し、ビルボード200では4週連続1位を獲得し、メタリカにとって初のアルバムチャート1位を獲得した。全世界で3,000万枚以上を売り上げ、世界で最も売れたアルバムの一つであるだけでなく、ニールセン・サウンドスキャンの調査開始以降、アメリカでも最も売れたアルバムの一つとなっている。アルバムは2025年にアメリカレコード協会（RIAA）から2×ダイアモンドに認定され、アメリカでは2,000万枚以上を売り上げ、サウンドスキャン時代における初のアルバムとなった。2012年のヨーロッパ・ブラック・アルバム・ツアーでは、バンドはメタリカを逆順に演奏した。2020年、このアルバムはローリングストーン誌の「史上最高のアルバム500選」で235位にランクインした。2019年12月、メタリカはビルボード200で550週の記録を達成したアメリカ史上4番目のアルバムとなった。また、ピンク・フロイドの『狂気』（1973年）に次いで、チャート上位にランクインした伝統的なアルバムとしては史上2番目に長い記録となった。
