『The Rarities（レアリティーズ）』はマライア・キャリーの7枚目のコンピレーション・アルバム。2020年10月2日にコロムビア・レコードとレガシー・レコーディングスからリリースされた。このアルバムは、2020年に出版されたマライア・キャリーの回想録『ザ・ミーニング・オブ・マライア・キャリー』と同時期にリリースされた。この回想録では、アルバム収録曲の様々な意味やストーリーが語られている。このアルバムは、マライアのセルフタイトル・デビュー・アルバムの発売30周年を記念したプロモーション・キャンペーン「#MC30」の一環としてリリースされた。
OVERVIEW
シングル「Save the Day」、「Out Here on My Own」、そしてプロモーション・シングル「Here We Go Around Again」を収録した2枚組ディスクの1枚目には、マライアのディスコグラフィーから選りすぐりのBサイド曲や未発表曲が収録されている。2枚目のディスクには、1996年3月7日に行われた『Daydream World Tour』の東京ドーム公演の音源が収録されている。コンサートの映像を拡張したブルーレイディスクは、日本限定で発売された。アルバムは発売されると好評を博し、ビルボード200で初登場31位を記録し、オーストラリアとスペインではトップ20入りを果たし、クロアチア、日本、ポーランド、スコットランド、スイス、ワロン地域ではトップ40入りを果たした。
