カントリー・ミュージックのビデオやテレビのパフォーマンスのためのファン投票によって贈られる1967年から続く授賞式です。
キャリー・アンダーウッドが最優秀ビデオ賞で歴代最多受賞

今年の最優秀ビデオ賞（Video of the year）は、Jason Aldean（ジェイソン・アルディーン）とCarrie Underwood（キャリー・アンダーウッド）の「If I Didn’t Love You」が受賞。
キャリー・アンダーウッドは今作で10回目の受賞を果たし、賞の歴代最多記録を更新しました。ちなみに過去には、2007年「Before He Cheats」、2010年「Cowboy Casanova」、2012年から2015年までは4年連続で、「Good Girl」、「Blown Away」、「See You Again」、「Something in the Water」、そして2019年から「Cry Pretty」、「Drinking Alone」、「Hallelujah ft. John Legend」と連続受賞を記録しており、今年で再び4年連続での受賞。
授賞式のスタイルが大幅に変更された2002年以降、10回の受賞に続くのがKeith Urban（キース・アーバン）とTaylor Swift（テイラー・スウィフト）が同率で3度の受賞と、キャリー・アンダーウッドがどれだけ独占状態にあるのかがよくわかります。ファン投票によるものなので、アメリカン・アイドルの優勝者となって以降の人気はすさまじいものと言えるでしょう。
最優秀男性ビデオ賞はコーディー・ジョンソン
最優秀男性ビデオ賞（Male Video of the Year）を受賞したのはCody Johnson（コーディー・ジョンソン）の「’Til You Can’t」。
Dustin Haney（ダスティン・ヘイニー）が監督を務めたミュージック・ビデオは仲間と釣りを楽しむ描写とコーディーが歌う様子が細かく映し出され、その後の展開も十分にストーリーとして楽しめるビデオになっています。

受賞したコーディーは「ダスティン・ヘイニーは素晴らしいビデオを作りました。マット・ロジャースとベン・ステニスは素晴らしい曲を書きました。曲を手に入れたことをとても誇りに思います。」と語っています。
最優秀女性ビデオ賞はミランダ・ランバート
最優秀女性ビデオ賞（Female Video of the Year）を受賞したのはMiranda Lambert（ミランダ・ランバート）の「If I Was a Cowboy」。
ミランダ・ランバートは歴代2番目に多い6度目の受賞となりました。
彼女の受賞はある程度予想されていたようで、夫のBrendan McLoughlin（ブレンダン・マクローリン）と現れたレッドカーペットでの彼女の大胆な衣装からも多くのファンからコメントが寄せられていました。
Trey Fanjoy（トレイ・ファンジョイ）が監督を務めたミュージック・ビデオは、彼女の故郷であるテキサス州の小さな町で撮影されました。

テイラー・スウィフトが最優秀トレンディング・カムバック・ソング賞を受賞
最優秀トレンディング・カムバック・ソング賞（Trending Comeback Song of the Year）は過去の作品がTikTokなどをきっかけにバイラルトレンドとなり再び脚光を浴びた作品に贈られる賞として新設。
今回受賞したのは、Taylor Swift（テイラー・スウィフト）の「Love Story (Taylor’s Version)」。
再レコーディングとは言え「Love Story」は最優秀女性ビデオ賞、最優秀ビデオ賞を獲得した2009年以来13年ぶりの受賞となりました。
